Ben Franklin may have stated that there are only two certain things in life, death and taxes. One might be able to add a third thing – fights among Christians. It has been with us from the beginning and is still going strong today. However, in Philippians 4:1-9, Paul, in the midst of dealing with a church conflict, tells us to rejoice. One might wonder what exactly he expects us to rejoice about, but it is precisely in rejoicing in God that we open up the possibility of God bridging the gap. We rejoice so that God may bring us together.
