On Letting It Go

Sometimes the slings and arrows of life land a hit, and we are thrown off our game. Our pride is injured, and it is difficult if neigh possible to get back on the horse. Taking the scene between Christ and Peter, in Matt 16:21-28, Trey takes on the theme of relying too much on our own confidence and skills as opposed to leaning totally on God. In challenging Christ’s need to go to the cross, Peter tries to insert his own will or expectations into the divine equation. It is fair to bet that we all and identity with that in some way, but it is a setup for a letdown.
